Earth Hour is an activity proposed by WWF to cope with global climate change, hoping that individuals, communities, businesses and governments turn off lights from 20:30 to 21:30 on the last Saturday of March each year, to show their support to action on climate change. This is a global activity that spreads all over the world quickly after it started in Sydney in 2007.Earth Hour aims to make people aware of the threat posed by climate change and make them aware of a small movement of personal and corporate will have profound impact to the environment.
In China, there are many cities taking part in this activity,especially the large cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. Many citizens consciously turn off lights in the hour and they go out for a walk or some friends gather together to have fun. In college, students will hold some activities to attract students out of dormitory. Earth Hour has variety of activities, but the ultimate goal is the same, that is focusing on climate change and protecting the environment for individuals.
When people are not in the mood, they will become angry and when their families or friends talk to them, they will bring their bad mood, saying the bad words to the dearest person. It is not the wise choice for people let out their bad mood, because when they calm down, they will be very regretful for what they have done to their families and friends. Sometimes mean words are just like the sharp knives, stabbing into people’s hearts. So when we get angry, we should learn to control our emotion. We are easily to say out the hurting words, which makes the one we love suffering. Even if we apologize, but the pain still exists, like the broken mirror which can’t be fixed totally. So when we are angry, the best way to be silent and don’t do stupid things.
Some people feel like they are always busy doing something all day long, but they still have a lot of things to do. It seems that the time is never enough. How can we spend our time effectively? Well, in my humble opinion, there are several tips that we can use.
First of all, we should make a list about the things we need to do today. The chef thing to remember is to do the things which are extremely critical first. Second, be concentrated. For the people, they may lack of self-control, they are easily got distracted by other things, thus it’s important for them to do the things according to the list. Don’t do other things unless you have finish your job. Last but not least, wake up earlier in the morning. You’ll find you have more time to do the things you want.
In a word, we should have a plan about the things we are going to do. Only in this way we can use time effectively.
